Ok so I have to admit that the rantings that I was spewing the other day about Insurance turned out to probably be a good thing. Because of that I started to think that maybe it would be a good idea to put all of my life, disability, long term care insurances together on one page so that, heaven forbid, in the event it was needed it would all be together. Great Idea Right!!! I know!!!! Plus now I can really see what I have and more importantly what I haven't got for coverage. I really do like being organized so that's why I am so surprised that I haven't done this before now. Well actually I should give myself a little credit because I had started doing this a couple of years ago. My list was just a little out dated. But what I thought was really interesting was that many of the policies hold their premiums for like 20 years. Which I can understand but the part that I am having trouble coming to terms with is that those 20 years are not that far off. After that the premium is like $2000 for one month - what in the world is that???? I would be in my mid 50's and if you ask me that is NOT OLD!!!!! (Don't ask my children that question!)
Two good things came out of this organizational project and that was I visited two good friends who are in the insurance business. Each I needed to call to update beneficiary information and had really good visits with each. Katie is my quilting cohert!! We are in the same quilting group called the Border Babes. I will no doubt refer to this wonderful group of ladies in future blogs. We named ourselves the Border Babes because half of our group is from MN and the other half from across the border into IA. Also because to finish a quilt you put the borders on and it makes it a completed project. Together we are a completed quilt!!!! Love those ladies they keep me sane. Tricia is my other good friend that I went to grade and high school with. We have been friends for a very long time. We can go months without seeing each other but when we are together again it seems like it was just yesterday that we were going to football games and running the halls! Love that girl!! I asked her to consider doing a Zumba class with me this winter. I started Zumba last February and haven't missed a session since. That also keeps me grounded and focused. It is always good to sweat a little and especially with awesome girlfriends!!!
Oops - Weston will be home in 5 minutes so I had better get going to pick him up at the end of the driveway.
